Profile of Ahamad Khan

Dr. Ahamad Khan is working as an Associate Professor at the Centre for Urdu Culture Studies, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad. He completed his UG from Aligarh Muslim University and received his MA, M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has also completed Post Doctorate studies from ICHR in affiliation with JNU, New Delhi, on the topic “A Socio-Cultural History of Awadh (1722-1856) as reflected in Urdu sources”. His M. Phil Dissertation entitled “A Critical Study of Novel Shabgazeeda by Qazi Abdus Sattar” is a marvelous work. His Ph.D. research work entitled “Urdu Mein Tareekhi Novel Nigari Ke Siyasi aur Samaji Moharrikat '' (The Political and Social Motives behind Urdu Historical Novels) has received much literary appreciation from academia.

Dr Khan also possesses a Masters degree in Persian from Jamia Millia Islamia, and another Masters in Mass Communication from Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, Haryana. He has several publications to his credit, including books entitled “Awami Tarseel: Usool-o-Nazariyat”; “Urdu Mein Tareekhi Novel”; “Urdu Adab Men Awadh” and “Qazi Abdus Sattar: Fikr, Fann aur Fankar”. Apart from this, he is the author of more than 40 research papers and articles on different topics and has delivered lectures and talks as a resource person in numerous workshops. It is a matter of pride that under his leadership, the Centre for Urdu Culture Studies has been successfully working at an advanced level of teaching, research, and publication of this Journal apart from conducting co-curricular activities.
