Prof. SM Rahmatullah’s services for MANUU lauded

Hyderabad:

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) organized a farewell in honour of outgoing Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. SM Rahmatullah who will be retiring as a Professor of Public Administration on August 31. He was appointed as Pro Vice-Chancellor on 9th September 2021. he rendered valuable services for the University in various capacities including Vice-Chancellor I/c and Registrar. Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor presided over the programme held yesterday evening.

Prof. S. K. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar along with Deans, Directors and officials attended the function and appreciated his sincere services to the University and described him a very humble, hardworking and honest official.

Prof. Ainul Hasan described the personality of Prof. Rahmatullah as a mirror of MANUU, by seeing and meeting him in his initial days as Vice-Chancellor he tried to understand MANUU and it’s fraternity. While appreciating his services he said that Prof. Rahmatullah tried to take every decision in the interest of the University.

Prof. S. M. Rahmatullah, the senior most Professor, who has held the positions of Dean, Registrar, Vice-Chancellor I/c, Finance Officer, Head Procurement in his 15 year long association with the University while addressing the gathering said all his achievements were possible with the support of his colleagues only. Initially I was appointed as a Professor, Department of Public Administration & Political Science, and at the same time I became Department Head as well as Dean, School of Social Arts & Social Sciences. Later on five more departments were established under the school. MANUU established five Colleges of Teacher Education in different cities when I was Registrar of MANUU. Polytechnic colleges were also established in Cuttack and Kadapa, his native place. Also MANUU initiated procurement through GoI's GeM portal when I was assigned duty as Head, Procurement, he recalled.

Scholarship for MANUU students

The scholarship distribution ceremony for Merit-cum-means scholarship- 2022 selected students of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) was held yesterday at the CPDUMT auditorium. The Scholarship was sponsored by Support for Educational & Economic Development (SEED) in collaboration with The Quran Foundation. SEED has funded 300 scholarships for students from across all campuses of MANUU. Office of the Dean Students Welfare, coordinated the selection of students and also organized the distribution ceremony.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, in his presidential address emphasised on the importance of education. Every educated person has a role in transforming society. Skill is an asset and must be honed in light of the technical progress the world is making, he added. 

The guest of honour, Mr. Syed Mazheruddin Hussaini, Executive Director, SEED stressed the need for students to have academic focus and achieve their goals. He said deeds are a foundation to a better society.
