Profile of A. Subash

Dr. A. Subash was born in 1976 at Hyderabad. After completing his B.A. from Osmania University in 1996, he studied at University of Hyderabad, where he completed his M.A. in History in 1998. He did his Ph.D. from Dravidian University in 2017 on the theme Reconstructing the Maritime History of Colonial Andhra: A Study of Urban Phenomenon during the 17th, 18th and 19th Centuries. He worked with department of History at ICFAI University between 2003 and 2006. He got selected as Project Fellow for UGC sponsored Major Research Project (MRP) for a period of two years from 2009 and 2011 and worked on the theme The Growth of Hyderabad as an Urban Tourism Hub. Between 2012 and 2014, he worked as Research Associate at H.K. Sherwani Centre for Deccan Studies, Maulana Azad National Urdu University. He has also completed a Minor Research Project in 2018 on the theme Trade, Migration and Urban Networks: A Study of Port Cities of Colonial Andhra (1600 A.D. to 1800 A.D.). He has twelve years of teaching experience. His areas of specialization include economic history of modern India, maritime history, urban history and history of modern Andhra. He has numerous research articles published to his credit in different national, international journals and commemorative and festschrift volumes. He has joined as Assistant Professor at H.K. Sherwani Centre for Deccan Studies, Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad in 2014.
