Purpose of Education is to enhance human capacity - UGC Chairman Two Day National Conference inaugurated at MANUU

Hyderabad:

"The purpose of education is to enhance human capacity that provide us the intellectual capability to address the questions as to how we are going to realize the future which is sustainable and secure" said Prof. M. Jagadesh Kumar, Chairman, University Grants Commission today in the inaugural session of Two-Day National Conference "Shaping the Future of Education @ 2047" organized by the Department of Education and Training, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). Prof. Saroj Sharma, Chairperson, NIOS was the guest speaker. The conference unfolded its transformative agenda.

Speaking as the Chief Guest, Prof. Jagadesh Kumar emphasized the need to actualize a sustainable, healthy, peaceful, and secure future by transforming the education system under NEP 2020. This transformation involves providing learners with freedom, flexibility, and choices in their educational pursuits. Prof. Kumar advocated for a future founded on women-centric and inclusive development. In realizing the vision of a fully developed country by 2047 – Viksit Bharat, he highlighted the crucial role of four pillars: Youth, Women, Farmers, and the Poor. Prof. Kumar expressed unwavering confidence in MANUU, affirming its significant role in the nation-building process.

Prof. Saroj Sharma in her address delved into the insights of various educational commissions, emphasizing the directions for future education and the comprehensive Viksit Bharat @ 2047 agenda.

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor, MANUU, expressed optimism about the conference's outcome in his concluding remarks. Prof. Sk. Ishtiaque Ahmad, Registrar illuminated the audience on MANUU's introduction and its new program initiatives.

Prof. Shugufta Shaheen introduced the chief guest and Prof. Siddiqui Mohd. Mahmood introduced guest speaker.

Earlier, Prof. Vanaja. M, Dean, School of Education &Training delivered the welcome address. Prof. Shaheen Altaf Shaikh, Head, Department of Education and Training proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. V.S. Sumi, Assistant Professor convened the programme.

“Effects of Swift Heavy Ion Irradiation on Conjugated Polymers” National Science Day Special Lecture held at MANUU

Hyderabad:

“Conjugated Polymers are revolutionizing the electronic devices”, said Prof. Azher M. Siddiqui, Department of Physics, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, while delivering special lecture organized by the School of Sciences (SoS), Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) in connection with National Science Day on 28th February, 2024. He spoke on the topic “Effects of Swift Heavy Ion Irradiation on Conjugated Polymers” as the chief guest of the programme. This year’s theme was “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat”. Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar presided over the lecture.

Prof. Azher Siddiqui through his power point presentation detailed about polymers and said that when they behave like conductors they are called conjugated polymers and have many applications, one of which is foldable screens for laptops, computers, phones. This is a big breakthrough in the field of science, he added.

In his presidential remarks Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed thanked Prof. Azher for his informative lecture. He also highlighted the significance of Science Day. The guest of honour, Prof P. K. Suresh, School of Physics, University of Hyderabad also spoke.

Earlier, Prof. Salman Ahmad Khan, Dean informed about the activities of School of Sciences. Prof. H. Aleem Basha, Head, Physics Section & Programme Director briefed about the importance of National Science Day which recalls the notable invention of "Raman Effect" by India's greatest scientist Sir C V Raman and introduced the chief guest.

Dr. Priya Hasan, Assistant Professor (Physics) welcomed the guests. The programme convenor, Dr. Rizwanul Haq Ansari, Assistant Professor (Physics)  convened the programme and Dr. Md. Mehkoom proposed the vote of thanks.
