MANUU to organize International Urdu Social Science Congress

Hyderabad:

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS) is organizing a two-day VI International Urdu Social Science Congress on 07-08 March 2024. Themed on ‘Technology, Society and Environment’, the Congress will focus on the interface between technology, society, and the environment that has now become a defining characteristic of our global landscape.

According to Prof. Farida Siddiqui, Dean, SA&SS & Convenor Congress, Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice Chancellor will preside over the inaugural session on March 07. Prof. Dhananjay Singh, Director, NCPUL, New Delhi will be the chief guest while Prof. Deepak Kumar, Honorary Professor, Dept of History, MANUU will be the Guest of Honour. Prof. Furqan Qamar, Former Vice-Chancellor, University of Rajasthan will deliver the keynote address.

Prof. Syed Farid Alatas, Singapore National University, Prof. Arun Kumar, former professor, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, Prof. Zoya Hasan, Professor Emerita, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Prof. Furqan Qamar, former vice-chancellor, University of Rajasthan, Prof. Amitabh Kundu, distinguished Indian economist and social scientist and Prof. Sheela Prasad, former professor, Centre for Regional Studies, University of Hyderabad will address the Congress.

Prof. Amitabh Kundu will deliver the valedictory address on March 08. Dr. Amirullah Khan, Member of Telangana State Public Service Commission will be the chief guest of the valedictory while Prof. S M Rahmatullah, former Vice Chancellor, S.K. University and former Dean, MANUU’s School of Arts and Social Sciences will be the Guest of Honour. Cultural programs are also being arranged in the evening of the Congress.

Dr. Syed Najiullah, Head, Dept. of Public Administration is the co-convenor of the congress.

Scholars, researchers, academics and activists from around the globe will be participating in the congress.

Workshop “Genomic Data Analysis” inaugurated at MANUU

Hyderabad:

Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), School of Sciences,  Botany Department is organizing two-day National Workshop “Genomic Data Analysis” on March 06 & 07.

The Chief Guest of the inaugural session, Prof. Shagufta Shaheen, OSD-1, MANUU today said that Genomic Data analysis is a need of the day but at the same time we should pay more concern to genomic data security.

The Guest of Honour, Prof. R.R.Venkata Raju, SK University Anantapur and Dr. Vivek Chandramohan, CEO, SCIOmics also spoke on the occasion.

Prof. S Maqbool Ahmed, Head, Botany Department welcomed the participants and informed that a total of 63 participants across the country have registered for the workshop. The workshop convener, Dr. Maruthi KR briefed about the importance of the workshop.

Two books "Plant Physiology and Nursery & Gardening Books" of Distance Education, MANUU self-learning material written by faculty & team of experts including Prof. Basheeruddin, Dr. Basith, Prof. Maqbool Ahmed, Dr. Mohammed Faizan, Dr. Azizur Rahiman Khan and Ghafoor Unnisa were also released on the occasion.

Dr. Mohammed Faizan, Assistant Professor proposed a vote of thanks and Ms. Aurosha Fayaz, Research Scholar convened the programme.

Dr. Vivek Chandramohan and Dr. Bhavya from MSRIT are the resource persons of the technical session.
