Persian Department of MANUU held condolence meeting of President Raisi

Hyderabad:

Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan, Vice-Chancellor, Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) expressed his deep sorrow over the death of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syed Ebrahim Raisi and other senior Iranian officials in a helicopter accident.

He said that during Raisi's Presidentship, the cordial relations between India and Iran had gained more stability. His death caused an irreparable loss to Indians, especially teachers and scholars of Persian and those interested in Indo-Iranian literature & culture.

A condolence meeting was held today at the Department of Persian and Central Asian Studies (DP&CAS), Maulana Azad National Urdu University on the martyrdom of President of Iran Syed Ebrahim Raisi. In this meeting, Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar, MANUU read out the condolence message of the Vice Chancellor Prof. Syed Ainul Hasan. The registrar said that the steps taken by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Syed Ebrahim Raisi, to establish better relations between the nations of the world and to end mutual differences are unforgettable.

Prof. Aziz Bano, Dean, School of Languages, Dr. Syeda Asmath Jahan, Head, DP&CAS also addressed and described the death of the President of Iran as an irreparable loss. He was declared a leader whose memory will always remain in hearts.

The teacher, scholars and students of Persian department at MANUU Hyderabad campus, Lucknow campus and Srinagar Campus attended the meeting and expressed deep condolences.

Admissions in Department of Sociology, MANUU

Hyderabad:

The Department of Sociology is functioning since 2014 in Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) which is Central Government University. The department is accepting application forms for admissions into Post Graduation MA Sociology and PhD courses for academic year 2024-25.

According to Dr. K. M. Ziyauddin, Head, Department of Sociology, there are great opportunities for students with Urdu background who are desirous to aspire higher education in central University and want to pursue a career in sociology.

Presently admission process is going on for MA Sociology on merit basis with intake of 25 seats. The last date for submission of application for MA Sociology is June 30, 2024.

Admission to PhD program will be on an entrance test basis for which the last date of application submission is May 30 and the entrance exam will be held on June 12. This year 15 seats are available for Ph.D programme.
